Smart Parts Ion Reviewed - Posted Monday, August 28, 2006 by Mark
The Smart Parts Ion stands out as a shining start among the new paintball guns released in 2005, and we can see why! Paintball stores have had a tough time keeping their shelves of paintball gear stocked with Ions because of their incredible early season demand.
In this paintball guns review, James Carrow, our new paintball equipment reviewer, gives a complete rundown on the features and performance that so many players have come to love about the Ion while playing at their favorite paintball fields. With features such as full-auto and ramping firing modes, removable bodies, and high rates of fire combined with a relatively cheap price tag on this paintball gun, the Smart Parts Ion is DirectPaintball.com's choice for the best of 2005s new paintball markers.

Dye Invision Mask Review Released - Posted Tuesday, June 7, 2005 by Mark
The Dye Invision is among the most advanced paintball masks currently on the market. The Invision serves as the major competitior for JT's Proteus paintball mask. Although new, it has instantly become one of our favorites. Its small profile, light weight, and excellent anti-fog protection has made it very popular among tournament players. A bit pricey, but well worth the investment. If your in the market for a new mask, you better check out this review.

Online Video Reviews Released! - Posted Saturday, April 2, 2005 by Mark
I am excited to announce that we posted our first online paintball video today! In order to continue to publish the best paintball gun reviews on the internet, we decided to add videos into each new review. Now you can download videos of us as we test each paintball gun. In addition to demonstrating each gun's rate of fire, we are also adding in technical sidelights to give maintenance tips and other helpful walkthroughs about each gun. Our first videos are posted within the Smart Parts Impulse review. You can see us demonstrate how to unload a hopper of paint in only a few seconds and even learn how to clean the Impulse's solenoid (An important issue that the owner's manual doesn't cover very well). To check out the new video format used for our reviews of paintball guns, please go to the Impulse review. In addition, if you have any feedback on the new videos, please let us know by using our contact form located here.

Online Charity Auction - SP Impulse
An EBay auction / raffle for a Smart Parts Impulse is being held to benefit Robbie
Parsons, a 27 year old carpet installer in Port Saint Lucie, Florida. Robbie
was recently diagnosed with advanced non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, a form of
cancer. He has a wife and 4-year old daughter and, unfortunately, no health
insurance. The Impulse was won by Team 'Devils Own' at a tournament in South
Florida and will be raffled on 12/15 with Robbie himself drawing the lucky
winner. Tickets will be sold at $10 each and can be bought by mail although
PayPal.com payments are preferred. The fundraiser will not touch the
potential hundreds of thousands of dollars the family may incur in medical
costs; the goal is to help with the family's day-to-day expenses so that
Robbie can focus on fighting the disease. Someone will win a
competition-grade paintball gun.

Smart Parts Impulse Review Released! - Posted Saturday, March 26, 2005 by Mark
The impulse was designed by Smart Parts as a slimmer, more lightweight version of the now famous Smart Parts shocker. A direct spin-off from the original shocker design, the impulse can operate at input pressures as low as 120 PSI. The impulse we tested was equipped with the Smart Parts Vision Eye, a great feature that helps stop balls from being accidentally chopped by the gun's bolt. The impulse's low pressure combined with the Vision eye makes for a great combination that nearly eliminates ball breaks in the gun. Check out this review as we go into great detail with almost every aspect of the impulse... our favorite gun for 2004!
