Hello fellow paintball enthusiasts,
I wish this was the review on the Spyder E-99 I planned to have posted for today but unfortunately I had a rather unforeseen turn of events in my life this summer. I have been in and out of the local hospital for the last month and a half after being diagnosed with a rare heart problem called Long QT syndrome. Long QT syndrome causes the heart to enter into an abnormal rhythm that is so fast the heart actually fails to pump blood. No blood to the brain equals real bad news. Some of you may have heard of this uncontrolled rhythm referred to as fibrillation. This is the same problem that often kills young athletes suddenly and unexpectedly during the middle of sporting events. I am a very luck guy, many people do not survive through their first episode of passing out due to Long QT. I was fortunate enough to pass out while standing over a chair when I fell on the chair, doctors believe the "punch" to my chest may have restarted my heart, saving my life. I was immediately sent via ambulance to the emergency room stayed in the hospital for a week. I now have a Medtronic pacemaker / defibrillator implanted under my left chest muscle. The pacemaker helps regulate my hearts rhythm, but I also take medications to prevent me from having other episodes. If I do have an episode, the defibrillator "shocks" my heart back into its normal rhythm.
Dont worry about me I am almost fully recovered now. I plan to start writing the E-99 review tomorrow. Hopefully I can get it all done by tomorrow, but if not it may be another week since I am also starting my junior year of college this coming Tuesday. I cant get out there and play paintball for another month, but I am clear to "test" paintball guns just no running around and getting shot for a while.
Not to get too emotional here, but I want to thank everyone who has prayed for me and supported me through this time in my life. A special thanks to my family, friends, and medical doctors. God has blessed me in many, many ways,
Mark
